Schecter Guitars & Basses
Schecter Aviation Collection

Shecter Lady SCHECTER'S NEW 2004 RANGE HITS AUSTRALIA
Schecter's 2004 range has already started to hit Australian shores, ahead of schedule. The much anticipated new BlackJack and Aviation Collections have even made it down under in limited numbers at this stage. That's no mean feat considering the U.S. market for Schecter's excellent Diamond Series instruments is insatiable and is generally satisfied before the rest of the world gets a look in. Thanks to some hard work and negotiation by the Australian distributors of Schecter that trend has been turned around in 2004.

We have listed all the new models online at bmusic.com.au this past week as well as listing the models that have been revamped from last year's range. Basically every guitar from the 2003 range has had some sort of makeover, be it hardware appointments or colours, in Schecter's continuing effort to offer the absolute best instrument they can for the money. Another impressive feat is that all but 2 or 3 of the models in the entire bass and guitar range are available in a left-handed version.

You can check out the guitar range in full on the bmusic site HERE with the bass range to be added within a week or so. Below we take a look at some of the new models from the 2004 range:

Schecter Black Jack Collection SCHECTER BLACKJACK COLLECTION - NEW FOR 2004
New from Schecter is the "BlackJack Collection" consisting of six guitars.

All "BlackJack" models will be armed with the Seymour Duncan JB (SH-4) and '59 (SH-1n) pickup combination, which can be 'tapped' via a push/pull tone control or a 5-way Mega Switch. Additional features include a rock maple neck set into an arched mahogany body, Grover tuning machines, and a TonePros locking Tune-O-Matic bridge, which greatly enhances the instrument's natural sustain, and ensures rock-solid intonation and sonic clarity.

The appearance of these Gloss Black beauties is further enhanced by Black Chrome hardware, black pearl position markers, and Schecter's new, sleek, 'ultra-access' neck joint, which provides extreme ease of access to the upper frets.

Schecter Aviation Collection SCHECTER'S AVIATION COLLECTION OFFERS LIMITED GRAPHICS
The first two models from Schecter's Aviation Collection made their debut at NAMM in early 2004. A limited number of these are available at Authorized Schecter dealers Worldwide, and bmusic.com.au is one of them!

These two new Diamond Series graphics, affectionately dubbed Bomber Girl and Flying Tiger, are based on Schecter's popular 'PT' body style and are outfitted with full colors, a sort of 'playing tribute' to America's famed WWII era B-17 bomber and P-40 fighter plane.

SCHECTER'S NEW HELLCAT VI
The new Hellcat VI was unveiled at the Winter NAMM Trade Show this year. Designed by Schecter's Michael Ciravolo and Marc LaCorte, the pair cites the Cure's Perry Bamonte and Robert Smith with invaluable input.
Not a guitar, bass or even a baritone in today's terms, the Hellcat VI is designed to be an improvement of the '6-string bass' instrument of the early 1960s. The 30" scale, the Hellcat VI is standard tuned, but one octave below a normal guitar. String gauges will range from .025 to .095

Far more than a nu-metal drop-tuned guitar, the Hellcat VI is designed to be more of a melodic, textural instrument. This instrument, which has become synonymous with the 'Cure sound', can be heard on many of the band's 20 plus records, including their hit "Pictures of You".

An instrument this versatile also needed a pickup set to compliment it, which is accomplished by three special Duncan Designed MH-102 'mini' humbuckers. The special Alnico magnets will add vintage warmth and a wide array of tonal options via a push/pull Tone control, which will allow the pickups to a 'tapped' to a brighter, more articulate tone.
