	Just prior to the dawn of the new millennium, brothers Cliff & Gideon Thompson converged around a love of music laced with aggression and emotion. Heralding from Manurewa, a tough suburban neighbourhood in South Auckland (New Zealand), Cell's incubation period was in an environment over-run by Hip Hop and RnB. Going against the flow, in 2001 the core members of the band took their hip hop influence, smashed it into something far different, refashioning its broken, scattered pieces into a brash art they like to call Twisted Metal. This fusion of pounding funk & hip hop grooves, blanketed with plush rhythmical guitars and a focused, yet chaotic vocal roar is this very foundation. Inspired by thoughts, beliefs & environment, Cell fashion songs of purpose, insight & meaning. 	A cohesion of generations, and the musical differences between them........ Made up of rockers in their 30s, 20s and their teens, William ShatNa's Pants fills the gaps. After meeting in 2003, Jamie and Luke began working on a number of songs together, bashing strings in a tidy room with no apparent acoustic benefit. With only a few common influences, and starting with acoustic guitars, they weaved uncertain melodies together, trying to find some winning combination. Without a drummer, and no guitar stacks to amplify the sounds, the results ended up more like an acoustic duet (duh!) than a ballsy 'screw you!' rock sound. Rehearsals sooned begged for a beat and Beat (Magazine) it was that presented WSP with a 17 year old human metronome to take to the task. The final influence to this rock crusade, Max helped shaped the final sound that has become William ShatNa's Pants . At the start of of 2006 we recruited a singer by the name of Matty. From here on in our style began to change dramctically. 	Injettison began as a song writing and recording project named Adambomb in 2000. Singer Adam Cameron invited his brother in law Bev and a few other friends to play on the recordings and soon after they formed the basis of injettison. Over the following 3 years the band went through no less than 9 members. To complete the current line-up, long time friends James and Karl joined and the search for the perfect line-up was complete. Injettison spent the next year producing and recording their debut album ‘tales of sober nights'. Since its release, the album has received some fantastic reviews. Since the release of the album, injettison have completed a string of headline shows across Sydney in venues such as the Basement and the Annandale Hotel. They have also travelled south to play Wollongong Uni and the Black Stump Festival as well as a mini tour north to Queensland . injettison's future includes releasing their new ep 'wolves' and playing plenty of shows to support it. 	The 2004 Australian summer saw hard rock / metal band Tourettes line up along side the best that the music world could muster taking to the main stage of the Sydney Big Day Out, to open for Metallica. With two independent CD releases to their name and hundreds of shows in their wake Tourettes have muscled in on the consciousness of music fans throughout the world. Singer Michele Madden is the most ferocious female in music ever! Tourettes' official website has garnered the band international recognition enabling them to tour Western Canada (Sept/Oct,04) and California (April/May, 05). Tourettes have finished recording 13 new songs. Tracked by Endre Lukascy at Night Deposit Studios in Calgary, Canada and mixed by Rob Hill in Los Angeles; this new recording is a monster. 	It’s just the beginning for Emma Dean. This eclectic 21-year-old singer/songwriter from Brisbane is stealing the scene as one of our most unique and most talented emerging musical artists. So what’s her music all about? In a nutshell, she describes it as piano-based pop with a sprinkling of jazz and rock opera- unique music with real soul and depth. With a voice that’s as sultry as it is beautiful, this girl is already making a name for herself at acclaimed music festivals throughout Australia having played at The Venus Rising Festival (2002), Woodford Folk Festival (2002-2004), Noosa Jazz Festival (2002-2004) and The Valley Fiesta (2003). She will also appear as one of eleven Australian acts to perform a showcase concert at the Australian International Music Market this year in July. 	Kania was formed in early September '03 in Lithgow, NSW, Australia. Formed by guitarist/songwritter Marty Warren and vocalist Dan Ellery Kania's sound has been described as possessing aggressive guitar riffs, catchy choruses and of course some magical melodies which are the key elements to the young bands already whispered name, with influences from early metal bands such as Amorphis / In Flames through to Insomnium / Ensiferum. The band wasted no time in writing and releasing Prophecy in December '03. Since then they've released a second EP, awarded best demo 2004 by www.metalstorm.ee, and been selected for inclusion on two compilations including Unearthed 2. Since their first live show in August 2004 Kania have supported some of Australia's biggest metal acts. They also held Number One position on the mp3.com.au metal charts for seven weeks. 2005 will be a year of National touring and the release of the bands anticipated debut full length album... 	Magenta's music was mixed down in a back-yard studio using pro-tools, some quality mic's a rickety old PC (now retired), and the grim determination required to get the songs mixed, polished and finally up here for your listening pleasure. The CD has been a long time coming but has been worth the effort. Songwriter, Mat Robins recruited drummer Sev Lah and Bassist Gav Parker who were keen to jump on board after hearing the album. Since forming as a whole band in late 2004 Magenta have performed at respected venues in Melbourne with a very warm response. The music is modern and unique but somewhat reminiscent of bands such as Swervedriver, Alice in Chains and Stone Temple Pilots. 	Formed in 2001, and hitting Sydney's live metal scene in early 2003, Switchblade have quickly set out to make a name for themselves not only in Sydney, but across the nation. Switchblade hit the Sydney metal scene HARD, playing more than 20 shows in less than 12 months, and earning themselves a reputation as a young band to look out for. In 2004 Switchblade expanded their repertoire even further with the addition of a second guitarist, Scott, which also saw a more technical and intricate style creep into the band's sound. The band moved on to play bigger and better shows, and continued writing songs for the debut album. 	Marc Scully (DJ Tag) – Program Manager Marc Scully is EMStream's chief music programmer, and has established a reputation as one of Sydney's finest musical minds working in various fields of the music industry for well over 25 years. He started out as bass player playing with MX Warheads, The Love Rodeo and The Deadly Hume, Nick Barker & the Reptiles and RATCAT before moving into production, electronic music programming & remixing. A few weeks later, they recruited their friend Joe to play drums, who shares similar ideas about music. Together, The Feel creates abstract sounds and noises in their songs. A lot of bands today write songs that seem contrived and written with commercial value in mind. The Feel wants to make music that is art. "The American Disaster" been a concept in the mind of Australian Jack Tivoli since he was eight years old when he penned his first song city people.
